Help build Coins Hub: we’re looking for volunteer contributors, translators and numismatic experts

Hi everyone!

Coins Hub is an independent, free coin-collecting application that I am currently developing almost entirely on my own. The app already includes a complete commemorative €2 catalog, personal collection tracking, a wishlist, specimen photos, statistics, and coin recognition from pictures.

But commemorative €2 coins are only the beginning.

The next stage of Coins Hub is to create new coin catalogs covering different countries, eras, denominations, and years of issue. Over time, we want to make the app useful for collectors across many different areas of numismatics.

Building an accurate and detailed catalog of the world’s coins is not something one person can realistically do alone. Coins Hub is therefore beginning to form a community of collectors and like-minded people who would like to help build an international platform together with us.

We are looking for:

🪙 Catalog contributors
Help with adding and verifying coins, issues, years, mints, mintages, specifications, varieties, and reliable sources.

🔎 Numismatic experts
People with strong knowledge of a particular country, historical period, coin series, denomination, or other specialized area who can help us design future catalogs correctly.

🌍 Translators and translation reviewers
Help reviewing and improving the application interface, catalog content, descriptions, and community posts in different languages.

📣 Community ambassadors
Help introducing Coins Hub in relevant Facebook groups, Reddit communities, forums, and other numismatic spaces where such posts are permitted.

📷 Photo and content contributors
Original coin photographs that you have the right to share, catalog corrections, descriptions, and useful educational content for collectors.

What to expect at this stage

We are currently beginning to form the first contributor team and collect applications. This does not mean that every accepted contributor will immediately receive a large assignment or instant access to every part of the platform.

The architecture of future catalogs still needs to be carefully designed. Different numismatic fields have their own requirements involving years, mints, strike types, varieties, metal composition, condition, packaging, and many other characteristics. We want to discuss these details with collectors who genuinely understand their areas of specialization.

There are already two areas where contributors can help immediately:

• reviewing, correcting, and expanding the existing commemorative €2 catalog;
• reviewing and improving the application translations—all current translations were initially prepared using machine translation and need to be checked by native speakers.

New catalogs and additional tasks will become available gradually as the required architecture and tools are completed.

Approved contributors will receive limited access to our web administration platform only for their assigned catalog, language, or area of responsibility. All changes will go through review before publication.

You can take responsibility for a small section or an individual task. There is no requirement to work every day or commit to a fixed schedule.

I want to be completely transparent: contributor participation is currently voluntary and unpaid. Coins Hub is free for collectors, has no advertising or subscriptions, and does not yet generate revenue. This is not a paid job offer.

In return, we want contributors to receive genuine authorship, recognition, and the opportunity to become part of the project:

• your name or nickname in catalog credits and the Contributors section;
• an optional public contributor profile and special badges;
• credit for translations, photographs, and catalog work;
• a voice in discussions about new catalog architecture, future features, and the direction of the project;
• early access to upcoming functionality;
• priority consideration for future paid assignments and ongoing roles when Coins Hub reaches sustainable revenue.

Public visibility will always be optional. Contributors will be able to use a nickname or remain anonymous.

Professional experience is not required. What matters most is an interest in numismatics, attention to detail, respect for reliable sources, and a desire to create something genuinely useful for collectors.

Interested?

Send me a private message, leave a comment, or contact me by email:

📧 innomobix@gmail.com

Please tell me a little about yourself:

• your country;
• the coins or numismatic fields you know best;
• the languages you speak;
• how you would like to contribute.

Even one carefully reviewed catalog section, a few corrections, one high-quality translation, or several original photographs can become an important part of Coins Hub.

**Coins Hub 1.2.0 is now available – Wishlist, coin conditions and collection upgrades! 🎉**

A few weeks ago I introduced **Coins Hub**, a free app for managing **2 Euro commemorative coin collections**.

Since then, collectors have continued sharing feedback and feature ideas. This update brings several improvements requested by the community.

💫
**Create and share your Wishlist**

You can now save catalog issues you are looking for in a personal Wishlist.

The app lets you:

- add coins to the Wishlist from the catalog or coin-recognition results,
- see all wanted coins on a dedicated Wishlist page,
- move a coin directly from the Wishlist into your collection,
- share up to six wanted coins as a visual poster,
- add your own message and preview the poster before sharing.

Wishlist posters include coin images, country flags, years, qualities and packaging types, making them easy to share with other collectors.

🔄
**Correct the catalog issue linked to a collection item**

Another frequently requested improvement: if a physical coin was linked to the wrong catalog issue, you can now correct it without deleting and recreating the item.

Your photos, purchase price, purchase date, notes and item ID are preserved. Collection groups, statistics, progress and duplicate counters update automatically.

🪙
**Record the condition of each physical coin**

You can now add an optional condition to every coin in your collection. The physical condition is stored separately from the catalog quality such as UNC, BU or Proof.

📈
**Find possible collection upgrades**

Duplicate groups can now highlight coins with different conditions, for example
**VF → XF**
. You can compare the stronger and weaker items side by side, including their photos, condition, purchase details and notes.

🌍
**Five new languages**
Coins Hub is now available in:

- English,
- Russian,
- Latvian,
- Italian,
- German,
- French,
- Spanish,
- Dutch.

The interface has also been improved for different screen sizes, with updated navigation, sorting and grouping.

Coins Hub also includes:

🤖 AI-powered coin recognition
🪙 Complete 2 Euro commemorative catalog
📷 Personal collection with your own photos
☁️ Cloud sync
📦 Coin cards, rolls, blisters, folders and sets
📊 Collection statistics
🚫 No ads
🚫 No subscriptions
🚫 No premium features

Everything is completely free.

Thanks again to everyone who has been testing Coins Hub and sharing ideas. Several parts of this release came directly from your requests, and I’d love to hear what you think! 😊

Coins Hub 1.1.0 is now available – Eurik Import! 🎉

Coins Hub 1.1.0 is now available – Eurik Import! 🎉

A few weeks ago I introduced Coins Hub, a free app for managing 2 Euro commemorative coin collections.

Original post

Since then quite a few collectors have started using the app, and thanks to your feedback I’ve just released one of the most requested features.

🔄 Import your collection from Eurik

Coins Hub can now help migrate your Eurik collection.

Since Eurik and Coins Hub organize collections differently (qualities, packaging types, coincards, proof sets, etc.), the migration is semi-automatic rather than fully automatic.

The app will:

  • automatically suggest matching coins and issues,
  • let you review and correct every match,
  • import individual coins or an entire country,
  • remember your progress so you can continue later.

The goal isn’t a “one-click perfect import”—it’s to save hours of manual work while keeping your collection accurate.

Coins Hub also includes

  • 🤖 AI-powered coin recognition
  • 🪙 Complete 2 Euro commemorative catalog
  • 📷 Personal collection with your own photos
  • ☁️ Cloud sync
  • 📦 Coin cards, rolls, blisters, folders and sets
  • 📊 Collection statistics
  • 🚫 No ads
  • 🚫 No subscriptions
  • 🚫 No premium features

Everything is completely free.

Thanks again to everyone who has been testing the app and sharing ideas. More updates are already in development, and as always I’d love to hear your feedback! 😊

I built a free app for commemorative €2 collectors because I couldn’t find one that fit my needs

Hi everyone! 👋

I’ve been collecting commemorative €2 coins for several years, and after trying different apps I never found one that worked exactly the way I wanted.

So as a hobby project, I spent about a year building my own app called CoinsHub, which is now available on both Android and iOS.

The main idea was to focus specifically on commemorative €2 coins and support different types of issues separately: loose coins, coincards, blisters, boxes, sets, and more.

Current features include:

  • Complete commemorative €2 catalog
  • Personal collection tracking
  • Photos and purchase information
  • Statistics and progress tracking
  • AI-powered coin recognition from pictures
  • No ads and no subscriptions

This isn’t a commercial project—I’m genuinely interested in feedback from other collectors and in making something useful for the community.

What features do you think are still missing from existing coin collecting apps?
