ADVICE: post grad who keeps getting rejected for leases!

I’ve been struggling with the moving process to Brooklyn, NY for a few months now. Here’s the situation. I just graduated college and have a full time job offer for $80k in the city, and my credit score is 671. I’ve been getting rejected from places I’ve been applying to with 2 other roommates because I’m under 700 score (which I didn’t know was required for NYC leases).

I’m now having to apartment search on my own, looking to sublet a room in the meantime so I can build my credit. However, the sublets/lease takeovers I’ve inquired about through Facebook, etc. still require a formal application process. I haven’t been able to find any sublets that don’t require me to provide my credit score. I’ve been looking through other Reddit posts and people have talked about using a 3rd party guarantor to help if you have under a 700 score, but do you think that would help my case? I don’t have any personal guarantees who make 80x the full rent. I would only be paying under $1500 for my portion of the rent (for context). I was also unsure if there’s a way I don’t have to submit my score and can show on time rent payments instead. I just need some solutions.

I’m very stressed because I need to move to start my job next month and would appreciate any advice or help you have! Literally anything will help me, I’m super new to this NYC leasing process.

need help about being approved for apartments with fair credit

I just graduated undergrad and moving to NYC with $80k job offer. My credit score is fair it’s 631 and I have a strong guarantor (with good credit and income). I’ve been looking for 3bed/2 baths with roommates and I have not been getting approved because of my credit score. I’m feeling really defeated, especially because my score is due to student loans, I’ve only had it for 2.5 years, and I’ve never had a missed payment. Should I have my guarantor be a co-signer to help with being approved? My roommates have strong credit so they are being approved. Need advice on what to do and how to go about this, anything would help thank you.
