What are the security habits beginners usually underestimate?

I’m trying to build better security habits before putting more money into bitcoin.

So far, my basic checklist is:

- never share a seed phrase

- use 2FA where possible

- avoid keeping too much on any exchange

- send a small test transaction first

- double-check addresses before sending

Are these enough? What else risks do I need to pay more attention to?

Here is mine: Don't be afraid to start over again. This time, you are not starting from Scratch. You're starting from experience.

I think we often focus too much on what we've lost rather than what we've gained in the process. I’m curious to know what’s a quote that changed your perspective today, or maybe even your whole week?

Whether it’s something famous or just something a friend told you, I’d love to hear it and why it resonates with you right now!

I’m 35, recently divorced, with no mortgage or car payments, and honestly just trying to rebuild my finances little by little.

After rent and normal living expenses, I usually have maybe a few hundred dollars left each month. I’ve been seeing more people talk about Bitcoin lately and it got me wondering if I should finally try putting some money into crypto instead of letting everything sit in my bank account.

The thing is I’m very new to all of this.

I’m not trying to get rich overnight or gamble on random meme coins. I don’t want to lose everything. I just want something that can maybe hold value better than cash and hopefully grow slowly over time.

Would Bitcoin make sense for someone like me?
Or are there other coins beginners usually start with?

Also, how do people actually buy crypto safely? Which apps/exchanges do beginners trust the most? I’ve heard stories about scams, people losing passwords, huge fees, etc., and it honestly makes me nervous. If you were starting from zero again with maybe $100–200 a month, what would you do?
