Need To Reverse Engineer A PLC Program

So I have this PLC programed in TIA portal. For my learning I want to understand how exactly it work i mean thhe sequences and logic. This PLC has communication with opc server have PIDs and other signals. Is there any tip if someone previously done it how would you able to do and document it.

I am basic PLC programmer worked on siemens mainly with digital and analog I/Os. Problem is i am mile away from communication like profinet modbus etc. All I learned is while working i think field tought you best way. Now in my current role my Job is not field related and it's frustrating as I am not developing my skills to communication, scada etc. Do you people have any suggestion for me, looking for job is one thing but problem is they need experienced programmer with expertise in communication scada and everything. Need help suggestion ideas
