Need Help to Find Users for My Math Discord Server

Need Help to Find Users for My Math Discord Server

Hi everyone,

I'm reaching out to see if anyone would be interested in joining my Middle School and High School Discord math server.

Who I am:

I'm the guy doing Algebra-1 lessons here where I tutor my own kids.

I aspired to be a math teacher, but the school district in my city implemented a hiring freeze at the beginning of the year, and I'm currently unable to do what I've been wanting to do for years.

What I want to do:

Currently China graduates 10x the number of engineers as the U.S. And recently, over a thousand STEM professors from the University system of California signed a letter to the regents asking to reinstate the SAT/ACTs because students in their calculus class couldn't remember their middle school math concepts.

I don't like saying these things, but I honestly believe our education system has been slowly crumbling.

I would like to change that. I know I'm just one person, but change has to start somewhere.

So one action I've taken is to create a Discord server for math (the only Users so far are myself and my 2 High School kids). I've designed it so Users can automate their study by watching videos and doing practice questions on Google Forms. My intention is to make the resources completely free for anyone to use. The only part that would be paid is if anyone wants one-on-one private tutoring.

I'm still currently adding resources for Pre-Algebra and Algebra 1 (almost done). And the plan is for Algebra 2, Precalculus, and Calculus 1 in the future.

To attract people to the server, I've created a giveaway for a total of 10,500 Robux (5250 Robux for 2 winners). The Robux will be given away on the condition that they complete at least one of the assignments in the server for the day.

*Also, this server is intended for American students only.

This might seem strange to some, but I honestly don't know how to attract people to the server. Even harder is idea of trying to motivate students to study math on their own.

Most students who already study on their own, or who have a tutor don't need motivational help. I would say this is about 15% to 20% of American students. I want to help the other 80%.

If there's anyone out there who can help me achieve this, I would absolutely appreciate it.

If anyone wants to join the Discord here is the link:

The giveaway is under the #algebra-1-giveaways channel.

Thank you everyone
