So, I've been a little obsessed with La Cage Aux Folles lately, and after many listens, I have a question about a couple words mentioned in "A Little More Mascara". At one point, Albin sings "and everything is ankle straps, Maribou, Shalimar! It's worth sucking in my gut and girdling my rear". My query is what do "Maribou" and "Shalimar" actually refer to? My googling has left me wanting.
