Done for now

Well, as a console player with almost 2k hours in this game, I’m done for a while.

I’ve realized that this game really just doesn’t respect my time. Playing this game competitively is too frustrating, and playing it casually is simply worse.

Playing horizon ZD and FW again helped me realize how irritated I get playing MR. It’s one of the ONLY games where I play against bots in the QP mode. Pair that with stick drift issues that come up every few months, and it makes the game almost unbearable.

I’m considering getting a pc because I’ve been enjoying the game so much, but for now it’s simply not worth it to me. I’d be happy to shell out more money for stick modules if the game respected my time, but it simply doesn’t.

I get to celestial, wait in 15 minute queues(makes some sense), and then play in a gm 2 game. I get it. Sometimes there simply isn’t enough players depending on the time of season or day. But then to go into a qm to relax and do fun stuff only to hold the enemy team at the spawn door because they aren’t real.

I guess I’m past the honey moon phase at this point but I’m still disappointed. I love the skins, the variety of abilities, the voice lines, and the great combo and nail biting plays that happen(every so often). I just wish the casual game experience is better for the likely most common player. Those in the middle who don’t stream or play professionally. But they also aren’t children and want at least the bare minimum of game integrity. And for marvel rivals, which purportedly advertises themselves as a casual game, this feels very disingenuous. It’s even more insidious to notice when there isn’t a full team of bots, but there are one or two, while the rest are real players.
