Hello, I want to buy new faucet and change it myself. I have never done it before so i want to ask for some help. What is this type of faucet called? The type that has separate hot and cold water handles, but one single water stream. Based on the plumbing, is it possible to change it to a single handle controlled faucet?

What should i be looking for when i shop for it? What are some reputable brands?Except from turning off the water supply when installing, is there any safety issue i should consider while proceeding?
