Need a Sling Rec around the 2.5L. Aer? Tomtoc, Bellroy, Rework, Alpaka? Others?

As the title states, I need a sling recommendation around the 2.5L.

Features needed:

  • Soft seatbelt like strap
  • 3 zippered pockets
  • semi structured or even totally unstructed

What my research has lead me to is:

  • Aer Day Sling 4
  • Tomtoc T33 2.5L
  • Rework Toshi 2.5L
  • Alpaka flight sling 2L

In Canada, I don't know why I can't get the T33 2.5L but I had the 3.5L and it was too big. However, the one thing that I loved about the Tomtoc was the strap. It's so comfortable even if it rubs around the neck.

So I was disappointed when I ordered the Bellroy Venture Ready 2.5L and the strap was more course and scratchy (I know it's to kind of prevent movement but I hate it).

I need an opinion on the Aer Day Sling 4. Reviews tell me the strap is smooth and comfortable but a 1680D codura sounds too structured.

Rework Toshi 2.5L seems to be the best for what I need? the strap is comfortable? Need an opinion on this.

Any other great slings recs welcome and thanks in advance.

Follow up advice needed on “comfortable” shoulder straps on for premium bags

Yesterday I posted a question regarding my Ablecarry Max EDC as the shoulder straps were not comfortable. https://www.reddit.com/r/ManyBaggers/s/IMpvY1zdx3

So I’m back on my research for THE bag for me. The Ablecarry Max EDC straps are too structured for me. The padding is thick but a little hard. I haven’t had the chance to try other premium bags so my question to the community is how are the should straps of the following in comparison to the Max EDC:

- Aer Travel Pack 4
- Fyro Levo 30L
- Evergoods CPL 28L
- Rework Outbound 30L
- Bellroy work pack Pro 28L

All of these bags above seem to have thicker straps and I wanted to ask the community how it holds up with heavier loads as my EDC is an office/gym loadout including shoes and laptop along with a few things that really filled up my Max EDC.

I welcome other suggestions too! And appreciate the feedback.

I’m not enjoying my Ablecarry Max EDC and I need help

After watching too many hours about different bags, I decided to pull the trigger on getting the max EDC from Ablecarry but….it hurts my shoulders. The reason I think it hurts is because the shoulder straps are very thick but too structured so it feels like it’s digging into my shoulders.

My previous carry option was the Osprey 26+6 which worked OK but I wanted a more premium option with more organization. On my most recent short trip, I loved that the max edc was able to organize everything so neatly and I love the giant dump pocket for all my toddler’s stuff.

My typical day to day carry is a lot.
-shoes
-laptop
-lunch
-gym clothes
-microfibre towel
-water bottle
-small tech pouch

I found that with this heavy load…the bag obviously felt heavy. But now…with even a lighter load with just my kids stuff, I’m getting should fatigue.

So those who experienced the same issue as me, can you give me some recommendations?
