Lucid Dreaming Rejection

Every time I try to listen to any lucid dreaming exercises from the Expand app or even try to sleep with the intention of lucid dreaming, I feel like it is impossible to stay still.

Quick intro to my journey. I can meditate fine and there have been times when I feel like I’m close to having an OBE through normal meditation without any hearing aids, through the Gateway tapes, or through the Expand app. I can get to focus 10 - 12 pretty easily (maybe higher, I’m stuck on wave 3 and sometimes it’s tough, I have lots of inner work to work on) and I’ve been meditating on and off for 4-5 years now.

My main concern is when I try to do any lucid dreaming exercises, where I wake up a couple of hours into sleep and with or without hearing aids, I set an intention to ‘lucid dream.’ Every time this happens, I end up moving my body. I recognised this pattern, and this last time when I tried it again I told myself not to move no matter what. What ended up happening is, while listening to the expand app for one of its guided lucid dreaming recordings, it felt like lactic acid was building up everywhere in my body, and everything was asking me to move.

Although I really did try to stay still through the whole thing, the whole time I’m telling myself I am the master of my body, discipline is key 🤣. But after a while I realise that I’m just trying to force something that doesn’t want to give, and I’m not relaxed at all. So anyone who wants to share their experience or has any insight into these kinds of things, please comment, all are welcome. I would love to hear what people with any level of experience have to say about this. 🙏 Thank you.
