Employer Declaration - Article 22 Paragraph 5-bis

Hi there,

Before I begin, my Italian Consulate General is Vancouver, B.C., Canada

I have been working with my job to get my documentation sorted for a remote worker visa application

They have provided some really great employment letters, a remote work authorization, and the declaration of no convictions related to illegal immigration

However, I am not sure if this declaration needs to be notarized. Some sources on the internet say no, some say yes. Some AI platforms say no, some say yes

I don't wanna mess my application up as the process has been long and difficult enough to this point. If anyone has experience with the Vancouver Consulate and this document's treatment, please let me know! Thanks!

Codice Fiscale Process Questions

Hello, my partner is moving to Florence next week on a student visa. We have an apartment through HousingAnywhere that she will check in to upon arrival. Due to my visa appointment date and timelines with work, I am not permanently moving until January

Our contact/landlord for the apartment says that the lease will not be registered until our Codice Fiscale's are put on there, which matters to me because apparently a registered lease is required for my visa application (Remote Worker) in November. I have requested mine through the Italian Consulate nearest me, but my partner will arrive next week without her's. We were under the impression the Codice could be acquired while she's there, but I'm seeing a lot of posts on here that make me think this isn't the case

If anyone has insight on what she should do to acquire the Codice Fiscale either now (a week before departure) or after she has arrived in Florence and with enough time to get the lease registered before my November visa appointment, please let me know! I've heard she can't even get a phone plan opened without it

Thanks

Visa Type for Living in Italy

Hello, I am looking for some clarification around what visa type(s) will let me keep my job if I am living in Italy in 2027. If this is the wrong place to post, please recommend the correct one

Some background: my partner is moving to Florence for their Master's, which will run from November 2026 - November 2027. I will visit this Fall as a tourist, but would like to move there in January of 2027. We are from Canada

I've been negotiating the possibility of keeping my job, but I am confused by what is and is not allowed under certain visa types. From what I can find on Google, the digital nomad or remote worker visas allow you to retain your employment in roughly its current structure, with some exceptions (such as the nomad visa requiring 6-months of preceding remote work, which I do not have as I work on-site full-time). And the working holiday visa seems to allow for contract-based remote work, but hours and salary cannot be fixed and must fluctuate on the basis of project deliverables, or you risk being flagged for "hidden employment"

I am hoping someone from Canada, or anywhere else in the world if applicable, has gone through this process and can offer me any sort of advice or clarification? Did you keep your job? If so, how and on what Visa type?

Thanks in advance

Looking for an apartment in Florence

Moving to Florence in the Fall and struggling to find an apartment. The landlords are tough to communicate with and take days or weeks to respond. Not sure which platforms to trust. Wondering if anyone has experience finding a place to live in Italian cities and have any suggestions for the best ways to find a place

Thanks!
