Lawn alternatives

West Central Florida, zone 9. Early this spring, I planted Golddust Mercardonia along the driveway with frogfruit to replace the lawn parallel to the drive. Beyond that I've planted a number of plants, both flowering and grasses that seem to doing well in the partial shade of my front yard. The drought that we have had has made it difficult keeping everything alive. But I think now with a little more rainfall, everything will begin to grow without irrigation. Will I be able to contain the frogfruit, keeping it from invading the plants next to it? Also, is there a good way to make it more dense and fill in the bare areas?
