I was just looking at a spam email from Adaptor advertising a new drop of Trojan short-sleeved buttondowns. I noticed that that they come with a cardboard sleeve in the breast pocket with a pocket square that matches the shirt (very stupid; never wear a pocket square in your shirt and never match your pocket square to your shirt) and have a very generous, rolling collar. Both of these are features of the resurrected Brutus line from around ten or so years ago. So now I’m wondering if these Trojan shirts are from the same supplier as Brutus, just with different branding.

Does anyone have experience with both shirts? If so, was my hunch correct? Those Brutus shirts were some of the only ones I could wear off the peg that would fit my shoulders and arms but didn’t require tapering from a tailor. Ben Sherman slim fit is for people who’ve never even looked at a barbell and the old FP buttondowns were designed for boxes. I’ve been chasing the Brutus dragon for years now and am hoping one of you can let me know if the Trojan shirts are the replacement.
