10 days on Metformin

I cried a little yesterday bc I finally realized how much I was actually suffering before.

Bloating is gone. I used to feel like a balloon after eating anything, even sometimes just drinking some water would make me feel very bloated, and it would last for hours. Then by next meal the cycle would start all over again. Now I can eat and feel just fine, it’s amazing. I finally feel free!

My urge to overeat is less. Even if the food is so delicious that I don’t wanna stop, I don’t have that urge to keep going. I feel satisfied. My intense craving for a sweet treat after every meal is gone. I do still have a craving here and there but it doesn’t feel like I’ll die without it. I can finally say no!

I wake up not feeling like a zombie. I used to have the hardest time waking up, I would be late for work sometimes bc I would sleep right thru my alarms. And when I did wake up, it would still take me a few hours to actually be fully functioning and not grouchy. On my off days I would sleep til lunch and still be tired. Recently I’ve been waking up earlier and I actually feel rested!! Even if I go to bed late. This one is most surprising to me bc my whole life I’ve not done well with getting up early, so I figured it was just my personality.

No period yet, but I have hope. Overall I’m feeling SOOO much better in general, I’ve dealt with these issues for so long that it became a new normal. I’m extremely happy with how it’s going so far.

(TMI WARNING) Side effects: heartburn, gas, diarrhea 🥴 I got heartburn on day 2, and it lasted for 1-2 days. Wasn’t bad, Tums helped. After the heartburn subsided I started feeling like I had something stuck in my throat and I was burping a lot. Lasted for about 4 days, it was really annoying but it’s gone now. For the last couple days I’ve had really runny 💩. I’ve lost 5 pounds already but I thinks it’s because of that. Hoping it will sort itself out soon.
