My Socotra Island Blue Baboon blocked itself off a month ago and disappeared. Confused
So about a month ago I got my y Monocentropus balfouri sling (about 1.75in) and put it in this 4x4x2 enclosure. it found my premade burrow under the cork bark, blocked itself off and hasn't emerged since. It's ignored fruit flies feedings, ignored its water cap source. Never once comes out and the entrance hasn't changed.
I took the water cap out since it was never used and I've occasionally sprayed a corner to keep some little bit of humidity (I know they're an arid species). Once a week I put a drop or two of water near the entrance for some hydration. I've attempted to give it fruit flies but they do ignored. Otherwise, I mostly just leave it alone.
I honestly don't even know if this thing is alive anymore but I'm afraid to disturb it by checking. what would you do? I don't want to be "taking care" of something that could very well be dead and I not know it but I also don't want to possibly hurt whatever it is it's doing. any advise from experienced keepers of this species? is this normal?
