Cleveland Ohio nuclear medicine/pitt community college
Hi everyone,
I’m currently completing prerequisites for the online Nuclear Medicine Technology program through Pitt Community College and plan to apply/enroll once my prereqs are completed. One of the requirements for the program is having a clinical site secured before acceptance into the program. I’m located near Cleveland, Ohio, and I’m having a difficult time finding a hospital or imaging center willing to take online Nuclear Medicine students for clinicals. The only clinical site option the program has currently mentioned to me is Hamot Medical Center in Erie, PA, which is about 1.5 hours away from me. While I’m grateful there is at least an option, I’m really hoping to find something closer to the Cleveland area if possible.
I wanted to see if anyone:
has any connections in Nuclear Medicine departments around Cleveland/Northeast Ohio,
knows of hospitals or imaging centers that may accept outside clinical affiliation agreements,
or has gone through a similar situation with an online Nuclear Medicine program.
Also, if anyone here attended Pitt Community College’s Nuclear Medicine program, I’d love to hear:
how you liked the program,
how clinical placement worked for you,
how difficult the online format was,
and any advice or experiences you’d be willing to share.
I’m really serious about pursuing Nuclear Medicine as a career and am trying my best to figure out the clinical side of things. Any advice, guidance, or connections would truly mean a lot.
Thank you!
