Need career advice: CAT preparation vs skills/placements for tier 3 student. I am an average student and don't have any skills
I’m currently in 3rd year BTech from a tier 3 college and honestly feeling very confused about my future.
My parents want me to prepare for CAT and go for an MBA from a good college. But personally, I want to get a job as soon as possible and become financially independent.
The problem is I’m not very strong academically and I’d consider myself an average student. At the same time, I also feel like I lack proper skills for getting a good job. Because of this, I feel stuck between preparing for higher studies or focusing completely on skill development and placements.
People who were in a similar situation:
- Did you focus on skills and jobs first?
- Or prepare for CAT/GATE/higher studies?
- Is it realistic for an average student from a tier 3 college to get a decent job with enough effort?
Would really appreciate honest advice and experiences.
