Road Trip Economy Report
Just moved to California from Colorado and thought to share my fuel economy results. Driving a 2024 XLT Hybrid and almost always get 40+mpg on a tank with mostly city driving around Aurora and Denver. Moved most of our stuff via a PODS container but loaded up the Maverick pretty much to the brim (interior + bed) with bags, boxes, etc. I was still able to close our soft tonneau cover on the bed.
- 1017 mile trip from Aurora to LA
- 15 hours +/- a few minutes
- Average speed: probably 75mph
- total trip MPG: 31.8
Pretty big drop on economy with all highway driving, and I definitely prioritized speed over efficiency (15 hours straight is long enough). Was down into the high 20s at one point during some mountain ascents, but slowly came up by the time I reached LA.
