First Generation Low-Income Rising Junior Looking to Improve Application

This is what I have for my application right now, and I was wondering if anyone could give tips on what to improve!

Intended Major:
Most likely business/sales + biology on pre-med track (interested in healthcare management/operations)

Academics

  • GPA UW 4 W 4.73
  • ACT 35
  • APs 9

Course Rigor

  • Freshman year: APWH, APHUG, APCSP
  • Sophomore year: APPC, APGOV, APSTATS, APSEM, APES, APBIO
  • This Summer: 4 DEs
  • (Projected) Junior year: 7 APs + 1 DE

DECA

  • Chapter President of one of the largest DECA chapters in my state (250–300 members)
  • 2x ICDC Qualifier
  • Top 5 internationally at ICDC
  • Raised ~$20k total for chapter
  • Campaign manager for a successful state officer campaign
  • Built a DECA social media page with 100k views and 8k reach, where I connected and featured over 20 chapters from my state
  • Planning to introduce a community service project (already worked out all the details, and we're projected to create over 1,000 cards for senior citizens and veterans at assisted living facilities through it)
  • VP of Competition/President-Elect Sophomore Year

(I plan to continue DECA for the rest of high school. I fell in love with it freshman year, and I feel like I can make a really strong impact on my school and community through it.)

  • Speaker at 10+ events with audiences up to 4,000
  • 3 years Student Government
  • Anatomy Club Co-Founder

Future Physicians Club

  • Founded a Future Physicians club at my school (50+ members)
  • Organized training sessions on patient vitals + public health outreach
  • Brought in 10+ physicians from 3 different companies to share their experience for students to better explore their medical interests

Research & STEM

  • Accepted into a free, month-long, <10% acceptance rate summer CS-based, college-level biology program at T50 university (great way to get your foot into potential research opportunities, I have heard)
  • Closing in on a potential medical research opportunity at a local university for next year

Community Impact

  • Led a large cultural/community festival where I managed 50+ volunteer and had ~$120k in revenue with ~$20k profit
  • Raised $2500+ for a community beautification project and led the construction/landscaping of it with 20+ volunteers

Recommendation Letters

  • My DECA advisor, whom I have known since freshman year, wrote a letter for something else, and let me read it after, and it was amazing
  • The hospital manager who hired me and was my supervisor (amazing relationship and is a great writer, I've heard)
  • PreCalc/Future Calc Teacher (great relationship, knows me well for what I do outside of her class too)
  • Operations Internship/Cultural Festival/Non-profit Mentor/Advisor. I've known her since before high school, and she's guided me so well and has also seen me grow throughout the years.

Targets:
UMich, UNC, UVA, NYU, Emory, UMiami
