Hey guys, just looking to get some advice.

I recently received a job offer from a well known union for a Security Engineer role. The benefits are great free healthcare for me and my family, plus a pension that vests after 5 years.

I also recently interviewed with DHS for a similar position, and I feel like it went really well. I’ve always wanted to work for a federal agency because of the benefits and job security.

The union role seems pretty stable, but technically I wouldn’t be covered by the union itself— I would only receive union benefits.

What would you guys choose in this situation if both have job offers and why?
