I need advice!

My husband and I have always wanted a dog and decided end of last year that we would get a cocker spaniel this year. We found a great breeder and were so excited! We also started to try for a baby at the same time thinking it would take a while, but surprisingly got pregnant first try!

We have now had our pup 2 weeks and I am 17 weeks pregnant.

I had done SO much research before getting our pup but he has been even more difficult than we could have prepared for. After chatting with our breeder it seems his temperament is not exactly normal (none of his litter seems to have the same issues). Our main issues are the amount he barks and his absolute refusal of day sleep (yes he is crate trained!)

My husband especially is really struggling, I have never seen him like this, I think he’s developed anxiety.

Should we give him back / re home him? The idea makes me so so sad but I also need to do what’s best for my family. The breeder is more than happy to take him back and help re home him.

Please help, I’m so sad and struggling.
