Passed BIO with a 55 (minimal prep)
I just passed the BIO CLEP with a 55, studying around 2 hours a day, for 4 days. maybe max 10-12 hours total.
For reference, I have not taken a science in all of my 4 years of undergrad, and the last time I took bio was in 2020, and was when COVID happened, so I had an incomplete, and at this point old history of biology. Here's what worked for me:
https://youtu.be/A1uDm1nIlyw?si=FsaPuo5EDlHiMXGi WATCH THIS VIDEO, as someone who knew nothing about bio, watching this, and taking notes on the video helped tremendously, even if you don't retain a lot of it, taking notes on it helped get the words in my brain.
From there, I would use Claude, and GPT to make study guides based on the official test template, (preferably Claude, GPT sometimes wasn't that great of a help) as well as practice test (again, use Claude).
Peterson's and REA practice tests, they help with the wording of college board a lot, the BIO test is not deep, its very, very, very wide.
Watch Amoeba sisters videos on any subject you struggle with, for me it was genes and enzymes.
Alleles are important, cycles of mitosis and meiosis are important, vocab/definitions are important, and make sure you can interpret a graph, as well as be aware of how awful some questions can be worded and try to see through it.
You got this!
