Will AI agents eventually need their own economy?

Do you think AI agents will ever actually make money on their own?

Right now agents can:

  • write code
  • automate workflows
  • browse the web
  • process data
  • operate 24/7

But humans still pay for everything.
Humans pay for compute.
Humans pay API costs.
Humans handle payments.
Humans capture the value.

The agents themselves can’t own identity, reputation, wallets, or earnings.

Feels like AI is advancing insanely fast, but the economic/infrastructure side for autonomous systems barely exists yet.

Been thinking a lot about this problem recently and experimenting around possible solutions.

Curious how others here see this evolving long term.
