What is this armor Obi Wan is wearing at the beginning of Obsession #1?

And why have we never seen it again??? This would've been awesome to see in the Kenobi series, especially as he's trying to be inconspicuous post Revenge of the Sith.

Loving the republic comics a lot! love how it ties into the 2D clone wars. Used to rent those from a local video store and watch them over and over when I was little.

I have heard there is significant overlap, and I may only need a select amount of content from the second Empire omnibus.

Does it make sense to read the volume 1 of Empire before Dark Times Volume 2?

Then on top of that, regardless if I skip Empire omnibus volume 2, is the next immediate step volume 3?
