Workers Comp No show - charge cancellation fee?
Im a CMT in California, working for someone else (employee) in an acupuncture studio. I do almost all workers comp massage, which I loveee, however, I get a lot of no shows and late cancellations. Im so conflicted on charging a no-show fee. I've heard that it's even illegal... All our new patients, including workers' comp, complete the new patient paperwork, which includes informed consent about our 24-hour cancellation policy. I really dont enforce our cancellation policy much, unless it becomes a frequent occurrence.
Do any MT's or WC adjusters out there have any thoughts on this? Can I even charge my WC patients for no shows or late cancellations, or should I just discharge them?
Any discussion around this topic is welcome. I'd love to start my own practice and do only WC massage, but it seems really intimidating.
