Grooming/ deshedding
Hi everyone!
I have a 5 year old German shepherd mix. She is reactive on walks to people and other dogs. She’s very scared at the vet and I have never taken her to a groomer before. The shedding at the moment is crazy and I’d love to take her to a groomer to do a deshed as well as a nail trim. At home she doesn’t like anything to do with grooming. Hates baths, runs away and tries to hide as soon as she sees the nail clippers, and I have a hard time cleaning her ears as well. She also really does not like being brushed. She is not aggressive but she does sometimes try to mouth my hand when I’m attempting to trim her nails Any advice on how to handle the spring shed or how to approach going to a groomer would be greatly appreciated!
Also to add she is a big dog around 110 lbs so that is a factor when it comes to trying to make her do something she doesn’t want to do.
