Opinions on North Carolina plaintiff litigation?

Asking about general opinions; is it pretty radical that North Carolina requires plaintiffs to be less than “1%” at fault to receive rewards?
Also asking because I’m looking at law schools, and wake forest (North Carolina Regional school is my dream school but I think I want to work for small plaintiff litigation firms. Is this something I should consider?
Thanks!

I hope this is okay to ask here, because I’m still looking at law schools. I’m considering what schools would best suit my career goals. When I tell my family about said career goals, they always ask if they think that I can handle a big law firm (if I determine that may be what I want to do).

The answer is I have no idea. I used to work in a restaurant 60-70 hours a week for a few months at a time, and it was horrible but I could do it for the money. I also have other work experiences where my life was completely consumed by work and school.

But that’s less mentally exhausting than what working at a law firm would be. At least, I assume working at a law firm requires more using my brain and discipline.
I also feel like there is no way to know until you do it. It may also be a balance of what one believes they can tolerate vs what they even should be tolerating. I’m also sober, in AA, and I’m not sure how much that would affect my sobriety.
