Cali lemon law. It wasn’t that hard
my 2019 leaf was in the shop for 10 months about 4 years ago when there were battery shortages. The replaced the battery at 20k miles and factually, the car has been fine ever since. However as we are all waiting for the fast charging fix, and i was sort of over waiting for it, i attempted a lemon law by contacting nissan customer service direct. Car now has over 50k miles and figured it was worth a shot. Emailed service with a few facts, they came back with asking for a few details regarding how much I paid, and they offered a settlement that was 90% of what I had paid. Fascinating lemon law fact: they do depreciation based on the mileage at which problems started.. not.. what it has now. so they only depreciated based on when i started the problems at 20k. $24k coming back out of the 27k i paid into it through lease and buy out. Easy peasy.. no lawyer necessary.
