Palpable lymph node

Hi! I am a 45 year-old female with some chronic mild health anxiety for years and years. I have been diagnosed with clinically dense breast tissue, and I am seen in the dense breast clinic locally whenever I have a new finding on self exam and they also follow my mammograms and ultrasounds. I have no family history, and so far all of my imaging has been fine, only showing breast dense breast tissue.

Two months ago, I noticed some increasingly dense tissue on the left side that hadn’t been there before. As I usually do, I waited a cycle or two before reporting it to my provider. I was seen by them yesterday in the clinic for this issue, and the provider could not appreciate any lumps in the breast itself, but did palpate a lymph node in my axilla on the same side. She looked at it with an ultrasound at the time of the visit, and noted it to look like a lymph node… She did not state that it looked enlarged or abnormal in anyway. She noted that I am on the thin side, and it’s not completely abnormal to feel lymph nodes in lean individuals.

She decided to order a bilateral diagnostic mammogram with an ultrasound of the left breast and the left axilla to take a look at the lymph node. I cannot palpate the lymph node on my own, however, I can palpate lymph nodes on the other side in the right axilla. Has anyone ever had an enlarged lymph node, or palpable lymph node in the axilla that came and went, or was benign, or showed something more? My imaging is not scheduled for several months.
