Hi! I’ve never backpacked to first come first serve sites. I really want to go to one soon on a weekend of late Friday in Angeles National forest. I’m worried I will rock up and all the sites are full. What do I do then?

Hi all! My camping trip to Santa Rosa island mid June is sadly most likely cancelled. I’m looking for alternative backpacking trips. I’ve done Catalina and Santa Cruz many times so not looking to pivot to those. I’m not sure what are good earlyish season backpacking areas that are ant covered in snow. It’ll be a holiday weekend so I assume Big Sur will be crazy busy. Thanks for the help :)
