High glucose with Mounjaro

I just quit ozempic a few weeks ago and I started my first 2.5 dose of Mounjaro on Tuesday. Today I am waking up with a fasting glucose of 12 and now it's at 14... Why isn't Mounjaro working like ozempic did at lowering my glucose? Should I increase the dose?

Edit: pharmacist also told me I had to discontinue my sitaglipton metformin just in case it goes too low...

Ozempic vomiting

My last dose of ozempic was 0.75 on June 11th 2026. I still vomited on June 16, 22, and today. Does it take time for this drug to get out of your system or something? Was I supposed to ween down slowly? I should be getting Mounjaro next week.

Treating a low at night

So I had a low really early this morning of 3.8 but as soon as I rubbed my eyes to wake up and gave myself like 20 minutes to get out of bed... It jumped to an 8!! I was about to go take a sip of juice or something to correct it but I guess the "morning spike" took care of it. That is wild... Should I not treat lows if I wake up from the alarm in the middle of the night? Like just watch it jump to 7/8 then go back to bed? Low has never been a problem for me but I guess all the eating habit changes are doing well 😊 maybe I can drop some of my meds 😁

Jardiance for the girlies

Ok T2D baddies, tell me the truth, is this shit giving ya yeast infections constantly? I just started 2-3 days in and it's already begun... I am trying probiotics since yesterday and hoping that helps if I take them together? I cannot live life with a constant yeast infection from these meds!! I already got vomitting from ozempic, diarrhea from metformin, and another med that makes me pee frequently. I'm having a hard time here with all the side effects 😭 makes a T2D wanna give up 😭

Tell me your Starbucks order

So I used to always get the brown sugar oat shaken espresso latte before I was re-diagnosed (long story see my last post) and then I switched to an oat latte with vanilla protein cold foam until I figured out how much sugar was in that cold foam and today I finally made the switch to sugar free vanilla 🥳 However, I want to hear from all the T2D baddies with a Starbucks addiction... What are you ordering to make it special and sugar free but delicious?! TIA ❤️

I think I heard you can get sugar free vanilla protein cold foam and like the more protein the better for us right?

Mislead to believe I was "cured"

In 2021 I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes and pre-eclampsia. I gave birth in 2022 and for some reason, the high BP and the Diabetes never went away, it lingered...

Aug 2023 5.6% A1C

Sept 2024 5.3% A1C

I spoke with a diabetes team via phone frequently about what I ate and they suggested that I quit ozempic and live my life normally (started on insulin while pregnant, metformin was not tolerated after pregnancy, so I went on ozempic only). I decided to stay on until December 2025, I was so tired of throwing up weekly from ozempic that I quit.

Cut to March 2026... I lost feeling in part of my left leg and I could never satiate my thirst. I decided it was time to check my BG and it was at 21mmol/l. I went to the ER and they were more concerned I was going to have a stroke!

I finally have my blood pressure under control but my A1C in May 2026 was 9...

I never really understood how serious this could be if unmonitored. Like I thought if everyone lives to age 100, I'll live until 95, no big deal...

Now I'm taking short term medical leave from work because I vomit at least once a week and take the day off sick... I will be trying Mounjaro instead to see if that is better on my stomach.

My plan while off is:

- Increase my personal trainer sessions from once weekly to 3 times weekly

- Meet with a dietician and come up with go-to meal plans

- Slowly increase mounjaro and monitor nausea and vomitting

Any advice on how to take advantage of my time off to ensure I get the most out of it? Anyone else have a similar story? I've been really depressed and sick lately about it all... I caused kidney damage... I could have lost a leg/foot... I didn't know 😔
