Where can I find bettas ethically? (uk)

I know you can get them second hand but if this isn't possible what is the best (uk) petshop to purchase betta from?

I've had a look at maidenhead aquatics but they keep theirs in 1.5gals with no decoration or hides :( and have transparent glass panels where they can see each other at all times. I know you can get some from pets at home but not too sure how ethical the care is. I want to make sure that theyre happy and healthy and parents were too, especially if im getting them from a breeder.

If there aren't any petshops that are particually good, does anyone know any good websites to find fish in need of rehoming? Had a look at pets4homes but there was only 1 avaliable over 20 miles away.

Although I tried my hardest to socialise my dog successfully as a puppy, a little girl on a scooter plowed into him while he was sitting on the floor so he has been fearful of kids and bikes now.

As I was picking up his poo, about 5 kids came onto the field that I was trying to train my dog in. He’s small and cute so people tend to not really respect him as much. 2 boys came rushing over asking if they could pet him. I said no and explained that he was “nervous and shy”. Then when I was walking away they asked if the could throw the toy for him. I agreed to this (from a distance) but the younger child began to approach more and aimed the toy at the dog’s head. Obviously as my dog was quite distressed I reeled in his lead, turned around and walked away. I told the kids that he was scared so we would take him away.

Just as I thought we got away, the younger child had sneaked up and was reaching his hand out to pat the dog’s head! I was told not to pick up my dog but I kind of had to in that moment. He was going to pet him and I didn’t want my dog to be terrified, let alone let the child get injured. This all happened within a matter of seconds so I didn’t really have much time to think. Did I do the right thing? Should I have not let them throw the toy? What should I do to help my dog desensitise to this without kids actually being present? (we live by an elementary and don’t have access to a car that often so we can’t really try alternate roots)
