I’m in Texas and a property tax protest company started working on my 2026 protest without me clearly agreeing to it this year. They’re saying I can’t cancel because their deadline was March 20, but I don’t remember authorizing anything new.

I used them last year and didn’t see any real impact on my monthly payment, so I don’t want to continue. On top of that, my mortgage payment already increased this year, and I can’t wait until September to maybe see a reduction.

Can they actually force me to continue or charge me if I don’t want the service? Has anyone dealt with this before? What should I do???
