Hi all!
I’m currently working on a project to migrate our current igel os11 devices to OS12. I’ve been asked to build a new distributed ums server with an external database. It’s a long story but needs to be done. So can’t really keep the current server much long. I have a few questions which I’m really hoping someone could share some advice please! :). My new setup will look like this.
Server 1, server 2
External SQL DB
Load balancer/reverse proxy
ICG (if needed for to host OS11 devices) in the dmz
Thin clients.
Does that look right to anyone? Is there anything I’m missing on a high level infrastructure/architecture? and I guess the next question is would be what is the best way to potentially update these devices to OS12. On the current server and then move these to the new one? Move to the new one and then update? I know I’ll have ti resister again if I do this. Is it possible to update the devices on the current server then essentially connect the DB to the new server?
Sorry I know this is a lot but would super grateful to anyone who can offer advice!
Thanks
