Sofia Goggia will miss Sölden and Federica Brignone won't race before mid-December

Sofia Goggia will miss Sölden and Federica Brignone won't race before mid-December

  • Federica Brignone will miss the race in Sölden on October 24. After undergoing another surgery on her severely injured left leg, she will focus on her recovery for the time being.
  • Brignone plans to get back on her skis in November to test her condition. The two-time Olympic champion will also sit out the North American tour in late November and early December.
  • Sofia Goggia will also miss the race in Sölden after suffering from two viral illnesses. Although the acute phase is over, she is not yet ready to compete due to persistent fatigue and exhaustion.

Top Italian duo Brignone and Goggia to miss the season opener in Sölden

I'm sure that we will see Goggia at some point, but hopefully Fede will be pain-free, otherwise she probably won't race anymore.

Sölden WC prep

Luckily, they are saving snow over the summer, otherwise things could get complicated even on a glacier.

Broadcast Update: USST Website now lists Peacock for Sölden & Levi

No more FIS TV, but Peacock for both races. To have Sölden on Peacock would be normal due to NBC's contract with Ski Austria, but if Levi will be on Peacock as well, it could mean that NBC/Peacock picked up the complete rights package.

Another new racer for HEAD - Ester Ledecka joins the Rebels

After 4 years with Kästle, Ester Ledecka is the next big name signing with HEAD. HK, Lara Colturi and Alice Robinson already joined the most successful brand of the last years. Podiums have been quite rare for her in the last years, maybe the new equipment will change that.

Whiteface Mountain to Host 2027 FIS Junior WSC

For the first time since 1994, the event will be held in the US and just like back then, the Olympic venue near Lake Placid will host the races. A good opportunity to watch the potential future stars of ski racing in person.

The dates are yet tba, but with the WC Finals starting on March 18 and the WSC happening from February 1-14, we have some kind of time frame.

Another rebel for HEAD - Alice Robinson joins the team

She announced her split from Salomon a month ago and now we know where she is headed (pun intended).

>Yet another top athlete signs up to the HEAD Worldcup Rebels! Following Henrik Kristoffersen and Christof Innerhofer, HEAD secures a high-profile new signing for the women's team: Alice Robinson is competing for HEAD starting immediately. The 24-year-old New Zealand athlete finished last season in second place overall in the Super-G. At the 2025 World Championships in Saalbach, she won the Silver medal in the Giant Slalom. Alice Robinson has won seven World Cup races to date; six in the Giant Slalom and one in the Super-G.

>"Alice Robinson is a brilliant athlete who is willing to take risks and attack the run with a vengeance. I’m very confident that at HEAD we can help her take the next step," says HEAD Racing Director, Rainer Salzgeber. "It really is a great pleasure to have an athlete like her in the team. Last season, she was a contender for the Crystal Globe in two disciplines: the Super-G and the Giant Slalom. That clearly has to be our mission now. She is still a relatively young athlete. I am looking forward to helping her succeed in this mission over the coming seasons."

>"I’m grateful for this opportunity and highly motivated"

>"I’m absolutely delighted to be joining HEAD and to start this new chapter together with them," said Alice Robinson. "HEAD has a long and successful history in ski racing and has always achieved success at the very highest level. I am grateful for this opportunity, excited about the future, and highly motivated to work with this amazing team."

Ski and Snowboard Live will cease operations on June 30

  • Why is the channel closing? After 5 successful seasons, our broadcast rights cycle has concluded. The rights are returning to the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS), who will manage future coverage.

  • When is the last day I can watch? The platform will remain fully active until the close of business on June 30, 2026.

  • Where can I watch Ski & Snowboard next season? All future event streaming will be handled by the FIS. We recommend checking the official FIS website or their social media channels for their 2026/27 schedule.

  • Will my login work on the new FIS platform? No. We are an independent platform. Users will likely need to create new accounts with whatever service FIS provides.

Ski & Snowboard Live Shutdown

As we know, S&SL live was produced by InFront Media, the rights distributor for FIS, because nobody wanted to buy the rights. Now FIS will handle it themselves. We will have to wait and see what this platform will look like, it could also mean that the Youtube days are over, if FIS launches a service everywhere, where they have no TV partner.

Hirscher already announced that women's racing would be the next chapter for VD and now we know, who is supposed to fill the blank pages.

I wouldn't be surprised, if Alice Robinson ends up with VD as well, it's RB family after all.

We already knew that HK left Van Deer, now his partnership with HEAD has been announced.

Henrik Kristoffersen Joins HEAD World Cup Rebels Ahead of 2026–27 Season

Paula Moltzan and Alice Robinson also parted ways with their respective brands, announcing it on their socials. We will see, what brand they will race. Paula probably got a really good offer after her medal and the results in the WC, leaving after 18 years needs a proper reason.

>18 years on Rossignol . A lifetime of memories, milestones, and a journey I’ll be forever grateful for.

>It started before I even knew who I’d become, just a kid with big dreams and Rossignol skis beneath my feet. Together we chased every goal I ever set for myself. World Junior Champion. NCAA Champion. World Cup podiums. World Championship medals. An Olympic medal. Things I once only dreamed of, made real together.

>Through every hard day, every setback, and every victory, the support never wavered. That means more to me than any result ever could.

>Thank you Rossignol Racing for believing in me and for being part of every single chapter of this journey. You will always hold such a special place in my heart. But sometimes you need a change.

>Something new is coming. Stay tuned.

>Thank you, Salomon

>The past four years with this team have meant a lot to me. I’m incredibly grateful for all the people I’ve met and worked with through such a significant chapter in my career. We’ve shared some both amazing results and experiences that I’ll cherish forever. I’m thankful for the belief, commitment, and support through everything this journey has thrown at us. Salomon will always hold a special place in my heart.

>To my serviceman, Michi words can’t describe how grateful I am. It’s rare to meet someone you connect with so effortlessly. Your work ethic, kindness, and who you are has made our work together so special. Thank you for always being there and giving 110% every day. You’re the best ♥️

>Something new is coming stay tuned.
