Hello, first time posting in this subreddit, I’m really hoping I can get clarification regarding getting back on ODSP as soon as possible after some time off it.
For context I had been on ODSP starting around 2016 ish, eventually had medical reevaluation around 2024 to show my disability was permanent and would not change, however I had been working part time (WFH) since 2023 and eventually between my partners income and my part time income I was removed from receiving income support from Odsp due to too high of income (just barely really) sometime July 2024. Now it gets confusing from here because the file close date shows multiple conflicting dates but supposedly was closed then. Now during 2025 I became extremely ill and eventually tried to go on medical leave from work (with proof of illness leave need from doctor) sept 2025 only for my employer to terminate me for “job abandonment” even tho I had valid leave need and was suffering a medical emergency. Since then I was left without my income and the drug coverage it provided, and my husbands income is not enough to cover my medical care which left me even worse off. Now I’ve been desperately trying to get ahold of someone to help get ODSP again but keep being given the runaround or straight up conflicting info. At first my husband had been handling contact because I was too ill to physically or mentally handle anything for the last few months, only for someone at Odsp to tell him that we needed to reapply because it had been too long, then we tried to apply through social assistant OW because it was the recommendation due to needing financial assistance right now for medication and treatments, however first ow application was just dropped with no action and second one just came back rejected due to our household income being higher then the maximum alotted amount ow would provide, and then the joint Odsp applications that were submitted have just been pending with no further action or contact. I’m now in severe crisis financially and medically from this, I’ve been unable to properly afford my medications or to go follow up with my doctors recently. to make matters worse my tooth just shattered and I can’t afford to go to the dentist due to not having sufficient coverage. When I try checking online it says that technically I should’ve been eligible for rapid reinstatement, however when my husband had initially called a few months ago they had not said anything about it being possible, only to reapply. I need help with this, like really just need help or clarification on how to get back on Odsp as soon as possible or who to contact or how to get the rapid reinstatement or how getting back on Odsp works. I’m stuck in crisis and keep getting bounced around with no answers, I’m frustrated, I just want to know how to get something tangible to happen, I really need the financial support as well as the drug and dental coverage asap. Please just if anyone knows anything about what to do please let me know. I just want direction on how to get help with this. Much appreciated for any help or advice you might have.
