What doesn't go on sale? Wondering how best to use the 20% off

Wondering if there's anything I should bother picking up with the 20% off Memorial Day coupon. I'm patient and can wait for sales on stuff but is there anything that never seems to go on sale?

Most of what I buy there is for automotive work, so mostly interested in wrenches, pliers, ratchets, sockets, torque wrenches/digital adapters, tool storage, etc. and maybe stuff like electronics repair since I do build my own computers.

Looking for a bike to tool around on pavement (with up to 30% grades) and maybe do some light to medium duty trail riding. "Hybrid" style bikes look they're a fit for what I want to do, but I know next to nothing about bikes. What's the best I can get for $500 or under?

So far I've found the Barron Plus Comfort Hybrid and a slew of options on BikesDirect. There's a couple potentially decent used options near me but I don't think I want the headache of maintaining an old bike or taking a chance on the frame nearing the end of its useful life. I take it the Ozark Trail M.2 Ridge is also a contender here even though it's labeled as mountain bike.

For reference - I'm about 5' 9", 150 lbs.
