My battery drains very fast running cachyOS on a laptop. I use this laptop for school, so i mainly need MS word, excel, powerpoint, and access to other chemistry programs like chemdraw, topspin, etc. I heard that the battery is draining fast on cachyOS because my cpu is stuck in low c-states (c1-c3) and can't access c8-c10 which causes it to keep taking up lots of power. I tried fiddling around in powertop. I tried switching from s2idle to deep sleep, but I don't want to have to reboot everytime I close my laptop.

I don't know much about computers. I just know that my laptop should not lose 2% of its capacity in 10 minutes when it is closed and 5-6% in 10 min when it is only running firefox.

Should i switch back to windows 11? Overall, i hate windows 11, and recently losing a bunch of files because I never got a bitlocker key was the final straw. I don't like how it constantly indexes files. My RAM usage would always be >90%, and the fan would be running like crazy, but even then the battery life was better than cachyOS. And also with windows 11, i knew where my downloaded files went instead of cachyOS which feels like every download ends up in root/usr/bin...

Should i stay with linux, go to windows 10, or go back to windows 11?
