I need help figuring out what laptop to buy (Asus vs Lenovo)
I have been a macbook user for a long time. Recently my 2020 MacBook Air died (kinda, the keyboard and trackpad don't work anymore so I have to use an external keyboard and mouse to use it) and I am a college student.
I have been wanting to stop using apple products so a windows computer is what I am looking for. On my own I have narrowed it down to getting a Lenovo or an Asus. However I don't know enough about tech to decide. I had really considered the Asus Zenbook s14 (specifically UX5406) however I keep coming across mixed reviews about them. People either have a great experience with them or they regret buying them. I keep seeing people recommend the Thinkpads and I am also thinking about it since they seem to be a community favorite.
This will be my first windows computer so I am hoping for an overall nice transition and experience.
Help me out?

Purpose
I want this laptop to last me a long time since I am going into my last year of college and have applied to a masters program. I need a computer that can handle the typical business things like excel, but I also need to be handling a lot of data and statistical software. So multitasking is important. But I also like to use it to watch videos and play games if possible.
Form factor
Standard/Clamshell
Intended usage
Excel, R studio, potential SQL database systems. Steam games I would be interested in would be Hollow Knight and Silksong, cozy farm games, Resident Evil and Ive been eyeing this fame called Legend of Khiimori. Anywhere from 60-120 fps. I dont know what would be required but at the end of the day I need this to handle my workloads so its ok if its not optimized for gaming.
Desired battery life
15-30 Hrs (my macbook claims 15hrs)
Please list, in order of most important to least important, the priority between Size, Weight, Performance, Battery life
Preformance, and battery life matter most to me. I dont care much about weight. The max size is 14"
Info/Requirements
Intel or AMD is fine (i dont know much). I would also like it to have at least 16GB of memory (my macbook has 8GB)
