Hi everyone! I'm going to Tokyo in September and taking a trip over to Shimoda for 4 days with family. We want to take the scenic route and stop along the way from Tokyo, so we want to use mail forwarding so we don't need to take our bags with us.
Yamato Transport says it'll take two days to go from Tokyo to Shizuoka prefecture, but when I've mailed luggage between Tokyo and Kansai (Kyoto and Osaka), it was typically next-day delivery even though it said 2 days. Anyone have experience mailing to the Izu Peninsula?
Also we get to Tokyo on a Monday evening (4:30 PM) and leave for Shimoda on Wednesday so our two options are:
- Mail our suitcases from Narita airport straight to Shimoda so they'll be there on Wednesday
- Mail our suitcases from our Tokyo hotel on Tuesday and hope they make it next day or Thursday
How is mailing from the airport? I know there's an extra fee but are the lines long, do they speak English, etc.? We'll be coming off a 10 hour flight so we'll be tired.
Thanks!
