I feel like a target…
My store manager has made it clear who her favorites are and if you’re not a favorite. She’ll treat you differently, she’ll speak to you as if you’re hiding everything from her, “checks in” on you really it’s to see if you’re doing your job or not, when she talks to you she won’t give you eye contact if anything she’ll continue to walk by you as she’s talking. But with me however, there is a layer of hostility towards me, she ignores me and when she has to talk to me she’ll give me dirty looks and talk down to me. She speaks to me like I’m dumb, she’ll baby talk me if that’s easier to imagine. But in a condescending tone. Recently a coworker got injured and had to be out for a few days, so I made a card and decorated the office when they got back. I had everyone sign the card, the office looked cute. But it only lasted half a day, my SM closed the office door and tore all the decorations down and tore them up and threw them away.
My friend who is also a department manager was in the office and told me, when she was submitting her order, the SM came in and saw that she had forgetting a few of the decorations and tore it down aggressively, crumpled it up and threw it in the trash then tossed the trashcan outside the door before smiling at her and checking in on her order. She said it was so strange.
My SM only gets like that when it comes to me and what I do, when she knows I’m behind something she gets offended? Aggressive? I don’t know what to call it. I made little drawings on post it’s, they were in the backroom, no customer can see, corporate has done walks and seen them dozens of times and there hasn’t been one issue in the last three years of me being there. Yesterday she tore them up and tossed them in the trash. I make cute little cat doodles on the grocery white board and she’ll rushed over and erase it with her hand. The worst part is that she won’t pull me aside and tell me the issue with the drawings or any problems she has against me, she’ll just make condescending comments and give me dirty looks instead. I spoke about this in the stupid lettuce listen bs and I stated every issue and behavior she has and nothing. If anything ever since that stupid survey she’s been treating me worse, like she knew it was me based on what I wrote. Has anyone else experienced a person like this? Please don’t say welcome to Sprouts, that’s a poor excuse and we shouldn’t have to put up with shit like this. It takes a toll on mental health and work ethic.
