Tomorrow is the last day of a 2-week solo trip that I’ve been on! I was able to see 5 national parks, 4 state parks, and 2 national monuments. I was unbelievably lucky with weather for this time of year. I just wanted to share some of my favorite photos that I took!
I’m going to be in Grand Teton NP the last week of September and I really want to hike to Amphitheater Lake but I’m nervous about Grizzlies.
I’m an experienced hiker but I’ve never hiked in Grizzly country. I’m going on a long solo road trip so unfortunately I’ll be alone and I know that’s a no-no for bear safety. I’ll obviously have bear spray and I’ll do my best to constantly make noise but I’m anxious about solo hiking.
How crowded will this trail be on a weekday in late September? I’m hopeful that I may be okay to hike alone if the trail is heavily trafficked and there are constant streams of other hikers going by, but if that won’t be the case I’ll probably scrap this hike.
Any insight is greatly appreciated as this is definitely causing anxiety for me lol. Thank you!
