I am from India, I will be going to University in dubai.

I am looking to get a laptop for uni and I was eyeing the zephyrus g14 / g16 or the proart p16.

In india it costs close to $3k (2.9 Lakh Rupees) , but in the US it costs $2.5k (2.4 Lakh Rupees).

I have friends and relatives in the US who can get the laptop for me from there.

I need some advice and guidance if this is the right thing to do.

My budget can extend to around $2.5k (2.4 Lakh Rupees) but not more than that.

I am looking for something light and portable since I am habituated to that.

I need 32gb ram since I plan to do engineering and need it to be future proof for the next 4 years.

I just got over with high school and will be going to university in September and want to make sure I am fully prepared for what may come at me in university from an engineering perspective.
I will be majoring in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence.

Are there any particular skills I should work on before going? Is there any book I should start reading? Are there some known and impactful people in the field I should start following? Should I start looking for internships or opportunities now? etc...

I basically want to know things to do or certain methods to follow in order to make the most of my free time and get a slight head start in university.
