is there a way to shorten a year-long internship into just a summer one?
i’ve been applying to internships since december, got to the final assessment centre for one and then got rejected :p, so i’m kinda on my last bits of hope. i’ve been invited to an assessment centre for an internship (for some reason they’re doing the assessment centre first?), but i think the internship is a year long one - they haven’t explicitly mentioned the length, but put 25 days of annual leave as a perk so i’m assuming it’s a year long. due to the nature of my course, i can’t take a year out right now.
the assessment centre involves me creating a presentation, so i’m not sure i want to do all of that if it turns out i can’t do the internship anyway.
i was wondering if i should tell them about my availability now (before the assessment centre), or after (if i get an offer). i’m in the UK if that helps.
