Looking to Upgrade from 7Hz Salnotes Zero (₹3K Budget)
I’m looking to upgrade from my 7Hz Salnotes Zero IEMs, which I bought in 2023. They have served me well for the past two years, and I’ve genuinely enjoyed their sound. I originally chose them because of their neutral tuning, which suited my preferences perfectly.
Now, I’m considering an upgrade and would appreciate recommendations for IEMs that offer a similar neutral sound signature, perhaps with a slight touch of warmth, while providing better overall technical performance.
One issue I had with the Salnotes Zero was the cable. After about a year of use, it became quite stiff and prone to tangling. This may have been because I used to coil it every time I stored it, but the cable quality was definitely the weakest part.
For my next IEM, I’m looking for excellent midrange and treble performance, as vocals, instruments, detail retrieval, and overall clarity are very important to me. I generally prefer a neutral tuning, but I don’t mind a slightly warm bass response as long as it doesn’t bleed into or overpower the mids and highs. I listen to and enjoy almost every genre of music and use it for Video Editing, Gaming, Movies and watching Lectures.
My budget is around ₹3,000. At the moment, I’m considering the 7Hz x Crinacle Zero 2 and the Tanchjim Bunny (3.5 mm version), paired with a DAC. Would either of these be a worthwhile upgrade from the original Salnotes Zero? Are there any other IEMs in this price range that match my preferences and would be a noticeable step up?
Edit: Due to my own carelessness, the shell of one of my 7Hz Salnotes Zero earpieces came apart. As a result, the wire connections to the driver repeatedly broke off, forcing me to resolder them several times. I also had to use adhesive to keep the housing together, but the issue kept recurring. Unfortunately, during one of the repair attempts, I accidentally overheated the driver while soldering and ended up damaging it permanently.
I’d appreciate any suggestions.
Thank you
