I am considering moving to China to work in academic research, but I have concerns that I would love to get some advice from internationals in this regard, especially since the info I can get is pretty limited in western media.
How easy is it to start life in china, especially regarding establishing connections with both locals and internationals? Are there enough internationals to begin with? I am planning to learn Mandarin but it is gonna take some time to be able to communicate.
How easy is it to settle and find my way initially?
What kind of advice would you give someone to start with?
