Wondering if we will ever get an omegaverse gl??
As someone who reads a lot of fanfiction on AO3 and omegaverse/ABO stories in general, I’ve noticed the genre has a massive fanbase and a lot more depth to it than people often assume. I know some people immediately associate it with darker tropes because of certain stories in the fandom space, but that’s not really what I’m talking about here. What interests me is the worldbuilding, character dynamics, social structures, and relationship tensions the subgenre can explore when written well.
Honestly, I feel like it’s something the GL industry, and even BL more broadly, could potentially explore more seriously because there’s clearly an audience for it already. A lot of sapphic western fandoms have huge ABO communities too, like Vi and Cait from Arcane for example. And we’ve already seen at least one Thai BL take on an omegaverse concept, and ABO Desire got a decent amount of attention as well.
Do y’all think we could ever get a GL series with an omegaverse plot, or does that still feel too far off right now? And if it ever happened, what couple would you want to see in an ABO dynamic and why?
Personally, I think an omegaverse storyline with LMSY would be really fun to watch.
