I'm flying out to a solo trip in Italy next week (starting in Milano), and I have some questions.

How do you think I should do this trip? Should I focus on a specific region or just travel around? Any recommended sights and attractions? Preferably cheaper ones..

Also what are the must haves? Any specific travel apps I should download (planning to use mainly public transportation)? Anything specific I should watch out for?
