Anyone else had issues changing Zwift difficulty during workouts when using resistance mode instead of ERG?

ERG mode works perfectly for me. Simulated gradient outside workouts also works perfectly. But during a workout, if I switch from ERG to difficulty/resistance mode, changing the difficulty slider does nothing at all.

I’ve restarted both my computer and trainer multiple times. Everything else seems to respond normally except workout difficulty adjustments in that mode.

Trainer is connected over Bluetooth and controllable in Zwift properly otherwise.

Any ideas or fixes?

Edit** I should add, I'm using a Kickr Core that's about 1 year old
