Windfarms are great
With Scotland being the windiest country in Europe we've got a few decent sized inland windfarms, today's ride was at a couple that link up, Douglas West and Dalquhandy in this case. Dalquhandy was apparently the site of Western Europes largest open cast mine when it opened in the 80s, something I was unaware of. There's also a couple of large quarries and many old mining villages. Also the great Douglas Bakehouse, who make some of the best pies and
sausage rolls I've eaten. A recommend pit stop
